How to add two operating systems in one PC ?

Dual Booting Windows 7 and Windows 8


        This is a guide for installing multiple windows in one desktop. It has many advantages the primary one being the accessibility to different operating systems.To read more about advantages, disadvantages and tips relating two windows check this link :

For installing multiple windows you need to have separate partitions in your hard disk or sparate disks for different OS. If you don't have separate partitions follow this link:

Now follow these simple steps:


  • First, insert your Windows 7 or 8 Boot Disk into your DVD drive and reboot your PC. While the PC is rebooting, you will be prompted ” Press any key to boot from CD…” Just press any key here

  • After you press a key, windows will load installation files.

  • Select your language, time and currency format and keyboard input (US)

  • Click Install Now to proceed

  • If you do, select I accept the license terms and click Next

  •  Click Custom (Advanced)

  • Select the Partition where you want to install Windows 7 or 8 (donot select the one in which there is already an OS) and click Next. You will need at least 5716mb free space.

  • You can make your own choices for everything else. Only these two will affect the dual boot. After the installation is over, booting your PC will bring you to a menu where you can choose your operating system.
